Spanning 2,600 km², Tarangire National Park boasts a stunning landscape of vast open plains dotted with the iconic silhouette of ancient baobab trees. Located about 120 km south of Arusha, the park is renowned for its thriving populations of lions and large herds of buffalo. Known as one of Africa’s hidden gems, it offers a serene and remote wilderness experience, perfect for nature enthusiasts seeking solitude.
Wildlife in the park includes zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, Maasai giraffes, and the elusive fringe-eared oryx (gemsbok). Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are also frequently spotted. For birdwatchers, Tarangire is a haven, home to endemic species like the ashy starling, rufous-tailed weaver, and the black-collared lovebird.
Afternoon: After a memorable game drive, you’ll head back to Arusha and arrive at your hotel by 17:00hrs.
